Another Uncivil Servant

Clinton St and Pierrepont St, Brooklyn, NY

This car was parked in the bike lane. He had a placard in his windshield, but I did not photograph it.

Uncivil Servant in the bike lane

Clinton St and Tillary St, Brooklyn, NY

Found this abuse by one of our city employees. Just FYI, this permit does not give this person the right to park in the bike lane.

DSNY in the Bike Lane

West 78th Street at Broadway, New york, NY

Could not see any reason why he could not have parked opposite the bike lane, even if he had business on this street.

Sanitation permit = ATM run?

Samuel Dickstein Plaza and Grand St., New york, NY

Just ran in to the bank...and thanks to the sanitation permit, the traffic agent won't give me a ticket (the traffic agent looked at the permit and walked on). New Grand St. bike lane.

DoT Candy Store Run

Eighth Avenue and West 53rd Street, New york, NY

This DOT placard holder figures that he can double park in the bike lane across from the hydrant without risking a ticket for blocking the hydrant. He doesn't double-park next to one of the legally parked cars, because that might block in and inconvenience a fellow motorist (can't do that!). So he parks in the bike lane, apparently comfortable with inconveniencing and endangering bicyclists. He waddled out of the candy shop as I was photo'ing his placard. When I questioned his parking he argued in defense that he was not abusing his placard, because the placard does not entitle him to park where he was (thanks for the admission!). So why is it on your dash, buddy--don't you see the fine print at the bottom stating it is a "felony" to misuse the permit?
