Sleeping in the Bike Lane
300 Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
A Wall Street Mail employee sleeping in the bike lane.
Livery cabs at the Marriott
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Had to get the front plate as the driver would not let me get his back plate.
Livery parked in bike lane, blocking fire hydrant, and encouraged to do so by the Marriott
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
More law breaking encouraged. Had to work hard to get these photos. Apparently more and more cyclists are taking pictures of cars. As soon as I rolled up, the drivers who were all standing around smoking would run up ad stand in front of their plates (knowing they were breaking the law).
More livery cabs in the bike lane at the Marriott
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Are these guys even allowed to pick up fares on the street like this? Or did the Marriott call them to sit camped out in the bike lane?
Livery cabs at the Marriott
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Again, encouraged by Marriott and the NYPD does nothing. This is a corporation using public space to make money, while at the same time putting cyclists at risk.
SUV hog encouraged to park in bike lane by Marriott
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
This guy had a placard in his dash as well. NYPD breaking the law.
More Marriott or NYPD parking violations in the bike lane
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
So many on just one day.
Marriott and NYPD encourage bike lane violations
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
And during bike month as well!
More NYPD / Marriott abuse of public property
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
So many! Why does the city even waste the time and money to paint this bike lane?
Adams St is a joke thanks to the Marriott and the NYPD!
Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
After hearing some complaints about the abuse of the bike lane on Adams St in downtown Brooklyn (leading up to the Brooklyn Bridge), I changed my morning commute route to check it out.
I was shocked! Nearly 30 pictures later, and some confrontations w/ livery drivers, I finally got back on my way to work.
Marriott is hugely to blame here, but the NYPD is abusing their placards in a pretty blatant fashion (most did not even have placards and instead put various bits of NYPD paraphernalia on their dash).
Pictures to follow.
