Midtown Express in the 21st bike lane

(correction: it was Midtown Express not Time Warner as I originally said. But aren't they TW contractors?)
Is there always a car in the bike lane on W 21?
21 and 7, New york, NY
It sure seems like it. I would be nice if the NYPD would ticket them for parking i the bike lane.
Typical day on W 21st Street
w 21 and 7th ave, New york, NY
At this point there are 4 cars/trucks in the bike lane between 7th and 8th Aves. In all fairness, the truck in front of this car is waiting for a parking space that is opening up, not just parking there which this handicap-plated car from PA is. When I politely informed the driver of the Subaru that she was in a bike lane she just shooed me away.

When you sit down and look at photos like this, you really have to laugh about how ridiculous and nakedly reptilian trucks like this look. What does this say about the inner lives of their owners?
And you have to feel bad, in some way, for the people who drive these things, who buy into the whole deal. Because they are surely suckers, and because their hulks of steel and glass will soon be anachronisms, echoes of a more foolish, wasteful and insincere time.
does't get it

This man doesn't understand what a bicycle is.

Right before I took this picture, a kid got out this cab. What kind of culture are we fostering where kids take cabs to school? And who can afford that anyway?
500th post, and they still don't get it

After I told this guy that next time he should stay out of the bike lane, he kept on asking me "was I delaying you buddy?" and launched into a tirade of curses.
Of course the issue is not about delaying bikes (in this case), but an equitable distribution of street space. But that was probably too much to convey in 5 seconds.
Which is why we need the NYPD to enforce the law, the DOT to make better bike lanes and the DMV make sure these folks actually know the rules of the road.
