Another victory for safe cycling in NYC

Observed by RatherBeBiking on Sun, Sep 28 2008

I submitted my first image to this website a few days into 2007. Since then we've seen dozens of new bike lanes laid down, and late this summer after a ticketing increase, cyclists enjoyed nearly car free bike lanes in much of manhattan.

Since moving to Baltimore for school, I haven't had a chance to take as many pictures as before - but I did take this one a couple of days ago - the 8th avenue separated bike lane has been extended until 31st street.

Keep riding, and enjoy NYC's amazing bike lanes (Baltimore has less than a mile total).

Great news! However, do you mean 9th Ave and 31st Street? 8th doesn't have a physically separated lane yet.
