Barry Diller's IAC VIP's shut down West 18th bike lane

Observed by freshness on Thu, Sep 04 2008

The scene on West 18th Street outside InterActiveCorp headquarters: A security guard illegally placing cones in the bike lane so livery cabs and limosines can park in it (seen down the road). Sorry that the billionaire mogul's company isn't doing so well on the stock market, but that doesn't give you carte blanche to block off an entire street of bike lane so your fuel-hogging execs can have their limos idle while zero-emission bikes are forced out of their reserved lane. I'm forwarding this post to the Transportation Commissioner, as corporations can't just willy-nilly take over bike lanes.

Barry, also try turning off your building's lights at night once in a while; Con Ed expects us all to conserve energy. And maybe lowering your energy bills will help curb your company's financial losses?

JUST A REMINDER - NYCDOT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT - CONTACT NYPD. AS IT IS, JUST KICK THE CONES ASIDE.
