Seems we are powerless...letters sent to City Hall, Community Leaders, Local Political Representatives have gone unanswered... so much for the lip service to bike safety and our rights as taxpayers. Any others who care about the safety of our fellow cyclists please report to the 1st Precinct Commander. We can't depend on the local patrol cops who have repeatedly ignored this flagrant violation. Does anyone have other suggestions to effectively put an end to this hazard?

This is on the approach to the Brooklyn Bridge by all southbound cars from Manhattan proper, extremely hazardous for cyclists to be forced to leave the bike lane into heavy, fast moving traffic. Same truck parks all day, everyday, year after year completely blocking the bike lane in a well marked "No Standing Zone, blocking ready access to a fire hydrant IN FRONT OF CITY HALL. Neither NYPD or Park Police are willing to enforce the law or perform their duty, despite repeated requests and complaints. Letters to local Community Board members, other public officials have gone unanswered.
