You guys/girls may not like my comment, but hey it's mine to give so here goes.
I've been a cyclist in the city for 17 years, most of that while working in a cycle shop and some of it working as a bike courier or somehow working with others in the cycling business. Yes we have bike lanes and no I don't use them for the sole reason that they are a magnet for people who don't now how to ride in traffic and for others who use them as a sidewalk.
I've always, always, used the road way as my area to ride, and have never in all that time had any trouble with cars or trucks. I ride offensively with my eyes alert to all traffic, in front and behind.
As a driver of vehicle that makes frequent stops I am compassionate with the drivers of trucks, courier vans, shippers, moving vans etc. When you consider the high congestion of traffic in your average city, it is easy to see why they have to park the vehicle where they do while making a delivery. I have no problem with them doing that. It's quite simple as a cyclist to be aware of the traffic situation ahead and make an adjustment in your line. In the case of this photo, this driver has provided a space for the cyclists to get by. Lot's of space.
Get over it people and stop bitching and learn how to ride in traffic. You are waisting your energy on silly things that you can easily adjust to in your everyday riding.
Okay, that's my 3 cents.
Happy riding.

We need less cyclists who ride 'offensively'. Thanks for your input.
