Prince Street Bike Lane

Observed by Stacy on Sun, Dec 02 2007

Probably not the only cyclist who had to veer around a livery car blocking the new Prince Street lane. Actually there were a couple of these VG cars blocking the lane betwen Broadway and West Broadway.

Nice shot. It will do nothing to deter these livery drivers--they seem to take delight in parking in bike lanes--but once the stencils are down on this lane it may help a bit in keeping private cars out of these lanes.

If the lane doesn't have pavement markings or signs to indicate that it's a bike lane then it's not really a bike lane yet. For now it's just a lane seperated from others by a solid white line which in many places means it's a parking lane.

Excuses, excuses. The driver knows that this is a bike lane, but doesn't care.
