UPS - A tradition of disrespect and disregard for safety.

Observed by RatherBeBiking on Mon, Nov 12 2007

UPS - First to reach 10 violations (for a single vehicle) documented on nyc.mybikelane.com

This might make a touching moment - put it on the UPS website and demonstrate not only their diversity, but the true care they put into training new drivers.

Until you realize that this vehicle is parked in a manner that puts the safety of cyclists into jeopardy, and that the driver helping the new guy out has verbally attacked a minor who simply documented one of his previous violations.

Nice going , UPS.

Try these new slogans :

UPS - A tradition of disrespect and disregard for safety.
UPS - This package matters more than your life.
UPS - We can't get safety through our fat heads.

A caption contest! Here's my submission:

"What do you think . . . if we moved the truck a little to the right, could we block the entire bike ANDthe buffer?"

Do the same with this gang as with the one I posted yesterday: print out all the photographs of this driver's violations and mail it to Laurie Mallis of public relations division at UPS HQ in Atlanta (tel. 404-828-7183) as well as three newspaper editors in Manhattan. This will make a wonderful newspaper story, full of data and photographs depicting how the majority of top bike lane violators in New York City are UPS employees.
