Let us all now praise DOT, whose workers are busy laboring in the rain this morning to finish the buffered bike lane on lower Ninth Avenue as seen here at 8:45 am. Remember to send an email thanking our visionary Transportation Commissioner, Janette Sadik-Khan, for making this happen:

Bike-a-lujah, as Rev. Billy would say. But a large sign at the "pearly gates" (23rd St. entrance to cycle track) telling motorists this is a bike lane with no motor vehicle access is needed ASAP, or soon we will be hearing that a bicyclist is "knocking on heaven's door . . ."
