Bike Lane = Precinct Parking

Observed by freshness on Mon, Oct 08 2007

When the NYPD is out on patrol, they ought to park wherever they need to. I have no problem with that; that's why we call them first responders and thank them for doing their dangerous work. But when the precinct uses the bike lane as its private parking lot, I have a problem with the uncivil servant mentality. This is a very popular parking spot for the precinct, and even the Google maps street view photo for this exact location shows one of their vans parked in the bike lane: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=821+8th+Ave,+New+York,+NY+10019,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title
