should he pull over to the other side when it is clearly an ALT. SIDE day and get a ticket there? then he shouldn't be on the street at all right? so then UPS should tell its recipeints that on MON, TUES, THURS, FRI our deliveries will be delayed bec. of alt. side parking. you bikers getting your ipods and apple stuff wouldnt be to happy with that delay in delivery, would you?
Your assumptions about the circumstances surrounding my posts perplexes me to no end. How do you know it was 'clearly an alt. side day'? Cars are always parked on both sides of the block pictured here.
And, he should indeed park on the other side of the street.
He will get a ticket parked in the bike lane or double parked on the other side, but by parking in the bike lane he creates a more dangerous situation for cyclists.
"you bikers getting your ipods and apple stuff wouldnt be to happy with that delay in delivery, would you?"
That space is empty because a bus stop is very close by and there may have been construction vehciles - but, you seem to be all knowing on these photos even though you weren't actually there, so if it was empty, why wasn't he parked there??
If tterca had bothered to look at the second photo, s/he would have seen cars parked on the other side of the street. There is a hydrant in the first photo, which is why one does not see any cars parked there.

Try this.
Go to that block.
It's 9th street between 1st avenue and Avenue A.
Really, go there, any day of the week.
Both sides are full of cars.
That space is empty because a bus stop is very close by and there may have been construction vehciles - but, you seem to be all knowing on these photos even though you weren't actually there, so if it was empty, why wasn't he parked there??
