ups does it again- yes because they are a delivery service and there is no where else to park!!!would you like them to have overhead propellors to suspend the cars above ground while they deliver their packages? GET REAL
tterca, are you blind? See the spot to the left? Or across the street, where theres (gasp!) metered parking?
Get a life and make an anti-cyclist site if instead of trolling these posts... and apparently making comments seemingly without looking at the pictures.
tterca would you be okay with a UPS truck or any other vehicle for that matter (since delivery trucks are subject to the same traffic laws as any other motor vehicle) stopping to make deliveries in the traffic lanes? I guess you would say no. Cyclists have all the same rights to the road as motorists. you say GET REAL, I say RESPECT CYCLISTS RIGHTS
To answer "spatulator"'s question, yes, I'd be okay with it. You know why? It happens ALL THE TIME. Do I gnash my teeth cry about it on a blog, hoping for anonymous validation? No - like an adult I just drive around the obstacle and get on with my life. This kind of thing contributes to the public image of bicyclists being elitist self-entitled weenies. No one is going to respect your rights if you carry on like this. Grow up.
You can't stop respecting someone's rights if you never started in the first place. Cyclists simply HAVE legally defined rights that are blatantly ignored and even infringed upon by those who are paid to uphold them. And that is wrong, same as it is for anyone whose rights are ignored or messed with.
And nobody buys you being ok with blockages in the road, especially not if you're a NYC driver. Nobody smiles and carries on without a care when someone almost swerves into their car, or simply blocks the road without warning.
