Best covered bike-lane violation ever

Observed by wahibiker on Tue, Sep 11 2007

Hey, limo drivers on Broadway & 36, I was there too. They were blocking the street for a fashion show at Gotham Hall. Here's a shot of them harassing one of the posters on this forum!

This is great, but maybe you should block out the face of the other poster, just in case.

Anybody know who ran the fashion show? Maybe some bad publicity for them might help.

The show was run by Heatherette.

Limo drivers were blatantly breaking the law and felt the need to violently threaten the cyclist. Typical.

The guy in the second pic is the one who cursed and threatened me with arrest as HE sat in his his limo in the bike lane.

My buddy Scorpionix did a few posts during a similar "fashion week" event last February.

I suppose these events bring money and prestige to the city but why must they come on the backs of bicyclists? Why don't they just use the barricades to protect the bike lane and let the limos take the traffic lane next to that?

And yes, livery drivers are jsut about the worst, even more hostile and aggressive than fedex/ups.

I'm the one with the smudged out face -- If I had known I would have smoothed down my rain suit. Anyway, valet parking at Gotham Hall is really the worst and the valet parkers are far less polite than the limo drivers.

The Haier building is owned by Haier, a Mainland Chinese company making kitchen appliances. So not only do they take our tiny sliver with which we try to save the world, they use lignite and other dirty coal to power their plants which are staffed by, according to rumor, political prisoners and slave labor.
