moped driver can't read

This guy was buzzing in and out of the bike lane on East 21st St this morning, and sitting in the bike box at the intersections.
The taxi driver to my left also has problems understanding the law.

Motorcycles, mopeds, and especially Segways in the bike lane really tick me off.

An Admin Law Judge actually told me that he considered letting a moped driver off the hook the other day who was ticketed for riding in the bike lane. The motorist contended that during the time he was in the bike lane he was coasting and not under mechanical power. He was found guilty of two other offenses so the judge let the bike lane one stick too. The guy had an interesting defense.

But too hard to prove. So you don't touch the gas and you can take the bike lane? Please. Not surprising that the bike lane violation wasn't the only thing he was being tried for.
