Police Blockade

Either something was going on at MSG or the cops thought it would be fun to throw down a flash mob prank by surreptitiously blocking an entire 2+ block faces of the 8th Avenue bike lane at 1pm on a Friday. Note that the picture only shows the block between 33rd and 31st, but they filled up the block between 33rd and 34th and quite possibly further north. Bonus if you can spot the delivery truck parked in the bike lane down at 29th Street.

Wow! That is quite a picture! I would hate to try to navigate that mess on my bike.

Or it's a counter terrorism deployment that involves cops from every precinct in the city converging in high profile areas.
