East 10th Street and Avenue C, New york, NY
Late at night, this ice cream truck was making a delivery to a deli on the corner of ave c. and e 10th street. around 11.25-11.30 pm.
Not only was he parked in the bike lane and probably delivering when he wasn't supposed to be, he had his son with him who appeared to be around my age or younger, and therefore most definitely a minor. New york city law prohibits minors from working in moving vehicles such as trucks making deliveries.
I think the driver knew this and was very rude and aggressive. As I sat in front of his vehicle waiting for the light to change, I took the shot of his plate.
The light turned green and I began to make my (SAFE) left turn - I was hit with a slew of cursing to something along the lines of "ITS A RED LIGHT YOU ASSHOLE" "YOU CANT RUN RED IN NEW YORK", and "GO FUCK YOURSELF".
Confused, I acted accordingly with a one finger salute (while keeping my eyes safely on the road), and an acceptable response.
I will be reporting the violation (bike lane and late night run) to the parent company, and the apparent employment of a minor in a truck job to the city.
