Addams st and Willoughby, Brooklyn, NY
This was sent to me by a member so I am posting for him.
Yet again (see http://nyc.mybikelane.com/post/index/4005) the Marriott in Brooklyn (Adams St) is actually encouraging cars to park in the bike lane.
Given the proximity to the various city buildings, you have to wonder why this is not only allowed, but seemingly encouraged?
Lafayette St and Bleeker St, New york, NY
This guy was reading the paper. Absolutely pathetic parking job.
Lafayette St and Houston St, New york, NY
Nearly hit me so he could get into this space. He also had plenty of space to park legally, but he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder.
Lafayette St and Prince St, New york, NY
No reason this lazy schmuck could not have parked legally.
9th Ave and 9th St, Brooklyn, NY
Found this guy as I was heading home from the park. He was unloading. Thank god they put a bike lane in on 9th so he would have a place to park
Tillary St and Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Seriously, what is with these white vans? They even come from far away to put cyclists at risk.
Clinton St and Pierrepont St, Brooklyn, NY
This van was just backing up, going forward, backing up, going forward ... in the bike lane. No idea why. Scary who can get a driver's license these days.
Clinton St and Montague St, Brooklyn, NY
This van was just idling in the bike lane in the heights
Tillary St and Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
This bike lane is a heavily trafficked lane by cyclists and is rarely ever empty of cars parked in it.
Tillary St and Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Seriously ... why so many of these damned vans everywhere?!
Tillary St and Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Would have been so easy for him to park legally. Lazy people.
Clinton St and Joralemon, Brooklyn, NY
Or they were just using the bike lane as a turning lane. Either way, rude and illegal.
Clinton St and Pacific St, Brooklyn, NY
I can't quite make out the plates, but how many trucks could they have?
Clinton St and Montague St, Brooklyn, NY
With a nice bonus of a truck parked in front.
Clinton St and Degraw St, Brooklyn, NY
This woman had a "Conserve Open Space" plate on her idling car parked in the bike lane. Yeah, she is a conservationist.
Tillary St and Cadman Plaza W, Brooklyn, NY
This guy decided it was easier to drive up the Class I bike lane on Tillary given much much less traffic on it.
Tillary St and Adams St, Brooklyn, NY
Not much to say. Pretty common site here.
Clinton St and Remsen St, Brooklyn, NY
Just sitting here on his cell phone.
Smith St and Sackett St, Brooklyn, NY
As I was heading down Smith St at a pretty good pace (keeping up with traffic at around 20mph+), a livery car driver decides that he can "make it" and pulls out from his stop sign directly in front of me. I t-bone his rear quarter panel and fly off the bike. What a morning.
Technically not a bike lane violation, but so what. I need to vent!
5th Ave and 2nd St, Brooklyn, NY
And to make matters worse, he passed me extra close and then right turned in front of me about 5 blocks ahead of this. Just a bad all around driver.
Grand St and Mott St, New york, NY
This thing was just plain ridiculous. A 6 wheeled stupid machine driving in the bike lane on grand street.
Grand St and Forsyth St, New york, NY
This on Grand Sat afternoon
Dean St and 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY
On my way to the park for a lap after work, the Dean st bike lane was pretty abused.
Dean St and 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY
No idea why they could not park in the empty spot next to them.
Lafayette St and Spring St, New york, NY
No driver in the car. Just left it here.
Clinton St and Tillary St, Brooklyn, NY
He left when he saw me taking his picture.
Lafayette St and Astor Pl, New york, NY
This guy was waiting outside a club idling his engine. Who knows how long he sat there polluting and blocking the bike lane.
Lafayette St and Greate Jones St, New york, NY
This beast was idling in the bike lane in front of the livery from the former picture. Unlike the former, this person did not care that I was snapping their picture.
Lafayette St and Great Jones St, New york, NY
He did leave after he saw me taking his picture. I think my extra bright Cateye headlight blinking in his mirror also helped.
Lafayette St and Prince St, New york, NY
He was idling and just sitting there. He also had plenty of room to actually park legally.
Lafayette St and Spring St, New york, NY
Not much else to say. I think the passing bus shows pretty well what the danger to cyclist is when people abuse the bike lane like this.
Clinton St and Kane St, Brooklyn, NY
Cable truck parked in the bike lane on Clinton.
Lafayette St and Prince st, New york, NY
I am sure this guy is a serial bike lane parker.
Lafayette St and Spring St, New york, NY
Drives in from another state to block cyclists paths. All so he can grab a bite to eat.
Clinton St and Montague St, Brooklyn, NY
The city really needs to do something to solve this problem. Allowing delivery trucks to drive up on to sidewalks is certainly not the best solution.
Tillary St and Clinton St, Brooklyn, NY
This woman was driving up the Class 1 bike lane on Tillary. She did actually apologize.
Clinton St and Pierrepont St, Brooklyn, NY
And directly under the no standing sign. This guy had veteran plates. When I passed by, it was a kid in his young 20's chatting on his bluetooth cell phone.
Clinton St and Montague St, Brooklyn, NY
This stretch in Brooklyn Heights amazes me at how bad it constantly is w/ bike lane violations.
Clinton St and Kane St, Brooklyn, NY
He was pulled over waiting for the light. Using the bike lane as a turn lane
Grand St and Essex St, New york, NY
This guy was camped out in the bike lane on Grand St
