of parking in the bike lane. What kills me about this is a| the bike lane is not a handicap parking space and b| though you can't tell, from the angle, there is PLENTY of space for this car to park in front of the ice cream truck, if only they could be bothered to parallel park. <sigh>

On a recent episode of _Parking Wars_, a parking enforcement agent commented that if one car park illegally, everybody else feels that gives them free reign to, as well. Exhibit A: Three motorcycles and three cars parked in the bike lane, on MacDougal Street, while the owners enjoy some falafel and expose cyclists to danger. Sadly, I do not have a lens wide enough to have captured that there were, in fact, TWO MORE cars parked in the bike lane, in front of these six vehicles.

I guess the vanity plate "I AM ASS" was already taken. This pic was taken by a friend and posted to his Instagram, but I happened to know where and when it was taken. I guess the theory, here, is if you spend enough $ on your car, you can part it anywhere.

This cab is blocking the bike lane, a crosswalk AND an intersection, all at once. Now that takes a special kind of douchebag talent.

Normally I forgive ambulances parking in the bike lane b/c they're helping people, right? Yeah...not so much. These EMTs were just scarfing down some falafel from Mamoun's and, potentially, creating future customers for themselves, at the same time.

Me: Why, with half a block of parking available, would you abandon your vehicle in the bike lane?
Driver: I guess I done lost my mind.
Me: Right? Because it does seem a little crazy.
Driver: I didn't say that.
Me: So it's a sane thing to do?
Driver: I didn't say that.
Me: So, it's neither crazy nor sane?
Driver: I'd like to leave now, if you don't mind.
Me: I'd like to not have to swerve into traffic to avoid your big-ass van, parked in the bike lane. BTW, you got a ticket.
Driver: I bet you like that.
Me: It's crazy, but I do.

Fittin'a drop of my composting is always a challenge, when drivers use the Fourth Avenue bike lane as temporary parking.

It's hard to tell, from this photo, that this car is parked in a bike lane...but it is. Ironically, parked across the street from Dos Caminos restaurant.

Notice the HUGE, open space available, curbside. "Nah...that'd be too easy."

There's almost always a truck parked in the bike lane, across Sixth Avenue from Bryant Park, when I go by.
